Cliff was a great motivational art facilitator who provided a safe and non-judgmental space for our youth to be able to open up and express their creativity. The experience was therapeutic, inspiring and fun! Thank you Cliff for being a part of our participants’ journey!

N. Makortoff – Facilitator, Job Developer and Coach with Chance to Choose, a Youth Employment Program

I’ve been making art most of my life. Art provides an opportunity for me to express my creativity and is therapeutic for me at the same time.  I have experimented with many types of expressive art including visual arts, dance/movement, music, drama/theater, and writing/poetry.

The process of making art is a complex experience for me; a mixture of inspiration, fear followed by productivity, bouts of self-doubt and concluding with self-reflection and feelings of satisfaction and pride. I’m at a point now where I make art first for myself as an expression of who I am.

French Artist Louise Bourgeois once said, “Art is a guarantee to sanity”. The arts are soothing and nurturing and I believe help us to be healthier. With art, who you are comes out. What I love most about therapeutic art is it’s about just creating and not trying to be a “good artist”. The focus becomes figuring out who you are and what you want to become.

Email/call me to discuss how we can integrate therapeutic art into your organization’s programs or to inquire about purchasing my work.

  1. Hi Cliff . . . . lovely work . . . . I would like to suggest that you display all your work . . . even those that have been purchased. Your collection of art work is wide and inspirational.
